In 1994, FILTRONtec was commissioned to plan, construct and test a pilot filter system in the Elbe Tunnel for the Civil Engineering Department of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Research and Technology (BMFT) and served as a pioneering development project for future tunnel air filter systems.
