amficab – the unique room air purifier. The amficab FV20 is a self-sufficient and compact ambient air purification system for the efficient elimination of viruses, germs and bacteria in closed rooms. Thanks to the simultaneous reduction of fine dust pollution, the FV20 ensures a significant improvement in the quality of breathing air in buildings.

The air purifier amficab FV20 was developed in Germany in 2020 by the company FILTRONtec together with GEAR7 agency and Vierhaus GmbH and is also produced in Germany. Through many years of experience and the combination of state-of-the-art filter technology with highly effective UV disinfection (irradiation with ultraviolet light) we have succeeded within a short time in bringing to the market a safe and attractive application for indoor air hygiene.

This product has now been awarded the Reiner Lemoine Innovation Prize of the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district. FILTRONtec received the special prize of € 2,000 from Chemiepark Bitterfeld-Wolfen GmbH.

Indoor air hygiene – more than just clean breathing air!

Particularly in highly frequented indoor spaces, there is an increased risk of pathogens spreading via the indoor air. Viruses and germs spread unnoticed over a wide area via aerosols – in times of SARS-CoV-2 and Covid-19 diseases a high risk that can be countered by a proper ambient air hygiene. In addition, the fine dust load in the room air is significantly reduced – a boon for allergy sufferers. Gaseous pollutants, whether introduced from outside or generated inside the room, are also adsorbed.

Despite its compact dimensions, the amficab FV20 treats large air volumes and therefore achieves the recommended performance for an effective hygienic filtration. The ultraviolet light irradiation (UV disinfection) used in the amficab FV20, with a wavelength of 254nm, reliably eliminates 99.9% of the viruses and bacteria present in the room air.

Healthy interior design – compact, efficient and beautiful!

With a footprint of 58×58 centimetres and a height of 230 centimetres, the dimensions of the room air filter correspond to those of a small wardrobe. Thanks to its modular design consisting of three ready-assembled elements the mobile air purifier is easy to transport and can therefore be set up in almost any room without any difficulty.

The highlight of the amficab FV20 is its customisable side panel cladding. Up to 12 interchangeable panels transform the "technical apparatus" into a high-quality decorative object. The easy-to-install cladding panels are available in a wide range of design options and can be combined as desired. This allows it to fit perfectly into a wide variety of spaces and to be easily integrated into the existing interior design.

FILTRONtec amficab FV20 – Its technology at a glance

Filter technology

The amficab FV20 is based on a multi-stage filtration system. Ambient air is drawn into the first chamber (element 1) where it passes through an electrostatic filter. The shielded UV-C light units permanently installed in the second chamber (element 2) kill viruses and bacteria cells. In the third chamber (element 3) an activated carbon filter removes odours and gases from the treated air before it is discharged into the room and, finally, an HEPA 14 filter ensures that 99.995% of all suspended particles are removed from the air.


The electrostatic filter can be wiped with a damp, clean cloth, dried and permanently reused. All other elements are maintenance-free. The use of the electrostatic filter guarantees a significantly longer service life of the other filter components. In the event of malfunctions or defects, the individual elements (1-3), including the technical components, can be replaced directly and without a repair backlog.
